Stefan Bekowsky's Gun Holster

Description

It's cosplay season and the convention I'm going to is in about two months~

One of the costumes I'm doing this year is Stefan Bekowsky from L.A. Noire, everybody's favorite Pole!

The costume itself is almost finished, I still need to buy a few pieces here and there; but, now I'm trying to work on the props.

Sadly, I never got to see Stefan with his shoulder holster, unlike Cole Phelps' hawkshaw outfit which included a holster, it would've been really awesome to see how he'd look with it on.

So, I decided to try to add some flare to my costume by making a shoulder holster of my own!

:bulletblue: To see the holster's back angle, click HERE.

The shoulder straps are made from two leather belts - money belts, specifically, since they're cheaper and easier to cut.
I cut off the buckles and taped the ends on top of each other with masking tape. Then, I cut a piece of faux leather and super-glued it over the masking tape to conceal it. I also used a few more drops of super glue to secure all the ends together.
On the inside, you can clearly see the patch and it may seem sloppy, but the backside looks fine.

As for the gun holster, I reused the design I used for Emily's gun holster, very plain and simple.
Except, this time, I learned that I should cut a piece of faux leather fabric and sew it onto the back of the holster!
I realized from last year that the slits I made in the back of Emily's had torn, and so I had to repair it by sewing it closed and sewing a backing on for the belt to slip through - live and learn, huh?

After it was finished and I did a stress test, I realized that it's a bit bulky in the back; it will leave a noticeable outline when I wear my jacket, which contradicts the costume design in-game, unfortunately. But, I've decided that I'll just wear it for the photos I take when I'm not wearing the jacket, I'm sure it'll still look really nice for those classy detective noir shots.

For an hour's work, I think it turned out pretty well; wish me luck~
