L.A. Noire Banners

Description

I was bored one day and got the idea to try and make a banner for my favorite detective, Stefan Bekowsky.

I loved how it turned out so I was inspired to try and make more for the other detectives in the game.
I apologize in advance that they're all squished into one mash-up poster, but I didn't much feel like posting each one at a time.

I'll explain the symbolism behind each one...

Cole Phelps: I liked Cole's navy blue suit, so I went with that as the background and used his red/white polka dotted tie design for the text. He was awarded the silver star during the war and he was known as 'the shadow' by his men, so I used those themes for the motif.

Ralph Dunn: Ralph is a beat cop with a dark blue uniform (almost black) and used that as the background. Then, I decided to use his flashlight as the motif along with his name being highlighted by a bright beam of light - as if it was being found in a dark alley.

Stefan Bekowsky: Using his plaid suit for inspiration, I placed traffic lanes in between the lettering of his name to represent the Traffic desk. It's great that his name looks like two passing cars (used the green from his tie for the color pallet).

Rusty Galloway: Using Rusty's yellow-green suit for inspiration for the background, I made bloody footprints and droplets to represent the Homicide desk.

Roy Earle: Using Roy unique salmon-colored suit for the background, it only seemed natural to make a bottle and some pills to represent the Vice desk. I also used the two shades of blue from his tie for his name.

Herschel Biggs: Using Herschel's brown suit as the background, I made a smoldering cigarette to represent the Arson desk. And, I used the gray from his tie for the lettering.

Jack Kelso: Surprisingly, I feel that I struggled to recreate Jack's blue plaid suit for this one. Since he's an investigator, I made a magnifying glass that would enlarge the 'J' from his name (which is colored in pink from his red/pink tie). I had originally wanted to use his elaborate tie design as the background but could never get the shape right.

Well, due to the bright colors, they look like they're from the 60s rather than the 40s, but it's passible.

I might try to make more for some other characters, but I haven't figured out who to go with next.
